François Ambrus-Lansade
François Ambrus-Lansade is a visiting undergraduate research assistant in the Department of Nuclear Engineering & Engineering Physics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He joined evident as a research intern, modeling the effects of nuclear war, following an exchange semester at UW–Madison, where he is completing his degree in political science.
Beginning Fall 2026, he will pursue a master’s degree in Geostrategy, Defense, and International Security at Sciences Po Aix – Institute of Political Studies of Aix-en-Provence, France. His work focuses on monitoring nuclear threats and understanding the international security challenges associated with nuclear weapons.

Research Interests
- Analysis of nuclear weapons policies and doctrines to understand their potential consequences at local and global levels
- Monitoring risks of nuclear weapons management and proliferation policies on international security
- Improving public awareness and understanding of nuclear threats
Current Projects
At evident, François contributes to the development of a global target database that identifies potential targets and deployed weapons, and to modeling and scripting scenarios that assess the effects of nuclear war. This includes using simulation tools such as the Nuclear War Simulator to estimate both immediate and cascading effects of nuclear conflict.
